Cow Camp at the Cattle Raisers Museum
Saturday, March 23 • 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation
TSCRF is proud to once again host Cow Camp, a day full of fun and education for young cattle raisers.

Exciting Contests and Prizes!
TSCRA will will give a number of prizes, awards and scholarships to the top three placers of all three creative categories and one plant ID contest during the Cattle Raisers Convention. For the art, photo and essay contests, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a scholarship. One overall best entry will be chosen for each category by the judges. Expo attendees will also choose one People's Choice Award for each category. Please download the guidelines for a full list of rules and instructions for each category, below. Deadline for art, photography and essay entries is March 11, 2013.
Three categories
Art: original art in any medium depicting cattle, horses, the ranching way of life and related themes.
Photography: "Kids 'n Cows" - picture must include at least one child (17 or younger) with at least one cow. Photo must have been taken in the last 12 months. Color or black and white.
Essay: "Preserving the Ranching Way of Life" Share your passion the beef industry and the ranching way of life in 1,000 words or less. Click here to download contest guidelines. (PDF)
Three age divisions
- Age 5-8
- Age 9-13
- Age 14-17
Prizes for each category
- 1st Place: $250 scholarship
- 2nd Place: $150 scholarship
- 3rd Place: #100 scholarship
- Best Overall Entry: 250
- One People's Choice Award chosen by attendees of the Expo for each category.
- Contestants do not need to be present to win.
- Entries must be received by March 11, 2013, at TSCRA headquarters in Fort Worth. No late entries accepted.
Range and Pasture ID Contest
Saturday, March 23 • 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
TSCRA will also host a range and pasture identification contest. ID different grasses, forbs, legumes and more for their longevity, season of growth, origin and economic value to both wildlife and livestock.

Childcare
Childcare is available during the Cattle Raisers Dance.
TSCRA provides a free activity room for children of event attendees, staffed by licensed professionals and safely located at the Omni Hotel. If you are interested in childcare, please call 800-242-7820.
